The Polk County Medical Association, established in 1910, is the leading professional association in Polk County for physicians. Our members including both Doctors of Medicine and Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine who have met the standards set by the PCMA, and have agreed to abide by the Code of Ethics set by the American Medical Association. Physician members are dedicated to provide the highest quality of medical care with integrity and compassion.
Polk County Medical Association is a member of the Federation of Medicine, which means we are a recognized component of the Florida Medical Association and the American Medical Association. The Polk County Medical Association serves as an advocate for physicians and their patients to promote high standards in medical ethics, promote public health, and to enhance the quality and accessibility of health care in our communities. We also provide free physician referrals, and we can be of assistance in helping your group secure a speaker on a medical topic.
The staff at PCMA is dedicated to assisting physicians in every aspect of their practices, and participating in community health care efforts. We provide legislative advocacy on both the local, state and national level. PCMA has 10 Delegates representing our county at the Florida Medical Association House of Delegates, and currently has one member serving on the Florida Medical Association Board of Governors. PCMA represents all specialties of medical practice, and strives to keep physician members abreast of current legislative, medical economic and regulatory issues.
